‘Satellite of Love’ fit a time and a place. The time was Wallasey in the early 80s, the place was multiple venues were myself and my cohorts were undergoing some life-changing experiences. This song comes up simply because the album was on permanent rotation at certain residences and, myself, as well as others, had recently discovered The Velvet Underground and were busy joining the dots. The truth is it could have been just about any track from this album, it’s full of classics. The background vocals, (Bowie), are an earworm on their own though which means this one wins.
