Whenever I think of Donato Dozzy, it’s this kind of track that pops into my head. Minimal trance, elastic bass line, haunting synths and a completely invasive melody. Tracks like this really stood out when they were made, quite a while ago now. They could also be credited with kick starting the whole “headfuck techno” niche; populated by Dozzy himself, and other Italians, Claudio PRC, Dino Sabatini & Giorgio Gigli for example; which was crystallised by the Prologue label. This sound has always been hovering on the periphery, occasionally making its presence felt, but not having to try too hard as it’s primitive pull on the tribal dancing funny muscle is a timeless one.
