Track Of The Day: APB - Shoot You Down (Oily Records)

Coming out at around the same time that the Postcard bands were starting to make their mark, this piece of post punk sounds more like it was influenced by what was coming out of Manchester at the time, not the sound of young Scotland. And, like New Order and A Certain Ratio, APB explored the nether regions of New York clubland, garnering a cult following in the process. This track is a great, timeless example of a crystallisation of cross-pollination all wrapped up in three and a half minutes.
