This is a great compilation which is being released to raise funds for the UK food bank charity The Trussel Trust. I suppose it’s easy to imagine that tracks for a hastily arranged release such as this may not be of the highest quality, studio flotsam and jetsam. That certainly isn’t the case here. There is very much to recommend this collection all of which is imaginative, evocative and atmospheric. Breaks and a subtle abstraction dominate the package and there is also a very pervasive, British whimsy from top to bottom. I’m not gong to pick favourites because that’s not the point.
