What a power surge of a track. Wild Pitch before it was a twinkle in DJ Pierre’s eye, effortlessly blending disco, soul, garage, house and techno into one classic, concise package. With a foundation of guitar lick loops, the stage is set for the rest of the track to take off. Fond memories of being up all night, imbibed, with John Hassay on campus and winding up in Lancaster House common room with this blasting out courtesy of ‘The Hitman and Her’. (I think we spent the rest of that night on a hill walking amongst cows and listening to them fart. Glory days). Its simplicity belies its complexity. Seminal release by Pal Joey.
