This is the first instalment in a mammoth series of remixes of Joseph Capriati’s ‘Metamorfosi’ album from 2020. There are more interesting contributions to come, but the six here have already set the bar very high. There are two versions of ‘Love Changed Me’ with Steve Rachmad’s being the more laid back, linear option and the ‘Frank Wiedemann & Toto Chiavetta Garage Remix’ being more upfront and using the whole of the vocal. Rachmad’s remix of ‘ Psychic Journey’ is more the tranced out techno wormhole associated with him. DJ Stingray and Gaetano Parisio both turn in electro reworks. The former a haunting, stripped down, post-apocalyptic, panoramic sound track, the latter a menacing, funk – fuelled rave drive. Oxia’s version of ‘Beautiful Morning’ is spacey big room techno at its best. Pretty fine fare all round.
